garden-maze      Jekt shivered. Loud raucous sounds surrounded him, faded. Feeling poking in his soft, oily skin, Jekt stared at weird slender brown….things with green, smelly, tips. Jekt growled, rubbing his protruding eyes. The things were everywhere.

Above the icky scent of the flimsy green, Jekt smelled food and grabbed. Meat between two fluffy holders: Jekt threw them back. The meat he slurped down. Still hungry, when live meat was poked in, he snapped. Jekt thought about jumping out, eating the food, but was scared.  What if mayma couldn’t find him if he moved?

Miserable, Jekt huddled deeper in his hole.

I like how you’ve described all these things Jekt is not familiar with. Intriguing.
